Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Standards

Updated 22 September 2026

ScRoll is a platform for tabletop role-playing games, where people talk, run games and message each other. We treat child safety as a condition the service cannot operate without. This page sets out what is prohibited, how we prevent it, and what happens after a report.

1. Our position

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited on ScRoll entirely and without exception. The rule does not bend for context, game genre, artistic intent, or whether the content was made by a person or generated by software.

We draw no line between “real” and “fictional” here: sexual material involving minors is prohibited even when it is drawn, generated, written as text, or presented as part of a story.

2. What is prohibited

Posting, forwarding, storing or requesting sexual material involving minors — in game listings, descriptions, chats, reviews, names, avatars or any other part of the service.

Grooming: building trust with a minor in order to draw them into sexual acts, conversations or sending images. A game situation or a character role does not excuse this behaviour.

Sextortion: demanding images, money or services under threat of distributing material about a minor.

Sexualising minors in character descriptions, plots, artwork or any other material.

Offering, advertising or seeking such material and contacts, including through hints, coded language and links to external sites.

Posing as a minor in order to draw others into such interaction.

3. Age requirement

ScRoll may be used from the age of 16 — the same figure appears in the Terms of Use. The service is not intended for children below that age, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it. You can report such an account through the channels below.

4. How we prevent it

The app carries a report control on every piece of user content — a game, an event, a publication, a message and a profile. Reports that indicate a risk to a child are handled ahead of the queue.

Game listings pass moderation before they are published, and profiles and conversations are reviewed on report.

We keep internal moderator rules under which reports in this category go to a responsible member of staff immediately rather than waiting in the general queue.

5. How to report

In the app: the “Report” control next to a game, event, publication, message or profile. This is the fastest route — the report reaches moderators together with a link to the item.

By email: primus@circleofdms.com, with “CSAE” in the subject line. Describe what you saw and include a link or a username — that is enough. Do not attach the material itself.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or emergency services in your country first, then write to us.

You do not need an account to report. We accept anonymous reports and do not disclose who reported.

6. What happens after a report

We remove the material and block access to it for all users.

The offending account is banned without warning and without a route back. The ban extends to other accounts belonging to the same person where we identify them.

We preserve the associated data to the extent needed to refer the case to the competent authorities and for any subsequent proceedings, even once the material itself has been removed from the service.

We report confirmed cases to the competent authorities and to child protection organisations as applicable law requires, including the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as the operator of the service is registered in the United States.

We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement and disclose information in the manner the law provides.

7. If you were mistaken, or disagree

A good-faith report that turns out to be unfounded carries no consequence for the person who made it. Reporting and being wrong is better than staying silent.

If your account was banned under this policy and you believe the decision was wrong, write to primus@circleofdms.com. We will review it, though the bar for restoring access in this category is high.

Deliberately false reports filed to harm another user are themselves a breach of the rules.
